Vermont “Vacation”
CSA Pick-up August 17 & 20

Zucchini bread, summer squash spread, plum sauce, frozen peppers, dried peppers, dried herbs–it’s food preservation season.  Soon to come will be tomatoes–in sauce, dehydrated, frozen whole–then dilly beans, pickles, sauerkraut, sauer beets, pesto, and more.  This week, though, we are trying to take it a little easier on the work and enjoy some time on Lake Elmore with Edge’s family, who are up visiting for the week.
We’ll have full harvest days ahead of us, with this week’s share including:
Tomatoes
Kale/Chard
Onions
Cucumbers
Beets/Carrots
Peppers
Squash/Zucchini
Green (and yellow and purple) beans
Herbs

We’ll also have pasture-raised chicken available for purchase.  We’ll see you at CSA pick-up!
