Sunset on the farm, Thursday night

CSA Pick-up 8/1 and 8/4

Next Thursday we are having our CSA picnic: a time to gather at the farm, see the fields, meet fellow members, and eat good food!  Bring a side-dish to share, and enjoy an evening at the farm.  The picnic will be during the CSA pick-up at the farm on Thursday from 4:30-6:30.  We’ll have a farm tour around 5:45 so you can see just where your food comes from!

You can now register for the Bread Oven Building Workshop on our website.  Are you interested in a hands-on workshop to learn and work beside a professional mason?  This three-day workshop will give you the information and skills to build your own oven, using local resources.  A local farm-made lunch is included each day!  Register on our website today!

The garlic harvest is in and it looks beautiful!  With sunshine early this week, we moved the harvest up a few days to make sure we beat the rain, and we sure did.  We will still have the farm open for anyone interested in getting your hands in the soil this afternoon, with plenty always to do in the fields!  Join us today from 2:00-5:00 for cultivating (and beautifying) the vegetable rows.

This coming week’s harvest is looking delicious:

  • New potatoes*
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Green Garlic
  • Zucchini/Squash
  • Carrots or Cabbage
  • Herbs

*The new potatoes are from our friends at Bear Roots Farm.  We’re teaming up this year to support each other’s strengths.  We’ve been growing salad greens for Bear Roots, and in turn they’re growing potatoes for us.  We love working with our fellow farmers to get the best local foods to our customers!

In the Farm Stand this Friday & Saturday, 3:30-6:30

  • Onions
  • Cucumbers
  • Zucchini
  • Squash
  • Lettuce Heads
  • Tomatoes

See below for a new zucchini recipe from Suzanne Podhaizer.

We wish you all a delicious weekend!

In Good Heart,
Katie and Edge
