Open Farm Weekend & Fall Harvest

CSA Pick-up 8/22 and 8/25

August is full.  So full that I can hardly keep track of everything!  But that is what August is for: fullness.  And the full moon last night surely shone bright enough to hold all that is happening and all that is coming.

The Good Heart t-shirt fundraiser is up and running, and we invite you to join us in raising money to subsidize CSA shares for low-income families.  We are excited about this fundraiser because it not only gives you a Good Heart shirt, but all the proceeds will go directly to increasing local food access.  The fundraiser ends on 9/11, and our goal is to sell 100 shirts.  Will you help us reach that goal?  You can purchase a shirt on our fundraiser website here: Good Heart Farmstead: Making Local Food for Everyone!

Friday and Saturday we are participating in Open Farm Week, and you are welcome to come up to the farm for tours, taste tests, and pick-your-own flowers.

Here’s the Open Farm weekend schedule:

  • Friday: 12:00-6:00 pm, farm stand open, bring a picnic lunch to eat, taste tests, farm tours @1:00 and 5:00
  • Saturday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, farm stand open, bring a picnic lunch to eat, farm tours @11:00, 2:00, cooking demo @ 1:00

You can now register for the Bread Oven Building Workshop on our website.  Are you interested in a hands-on workshop to learn and work beside a professional mason?  This three-day workshop will give you the information and skills to build your own oven, using local resources.  A local farm-made lunch is included each day!  Register on our website today!
