Happy, Merry & Bright!

We want to thank you all again for a lovely season of soil, harvests and community.

We celebrated Winter Solstice on Wednesday with candles, fire and family.  This time of year I always feel an invitation to retreat into the long nights and find quiet in the darkness, while being thankful for the increasing light at the same time.  We wish you all the ability to find whatever space and reflection you seek as we close out 2016.

We’ll be going through the survey results in detail next week and share with you what we heard!  A quick read through has let us know that many of you want sweet corn and berries in the share—we are in fact already planning on adding berries, with 100′ of raspberries planted this past spring, and blueberries scheduled to be planted in spring 2018 (after a full season of cover cropping and soil building).

We’ve also been talking about adding in an “experimental plot” next season, to be able to try out crops like sweet corn or sweet potatoes, and others that are difficult to work into our current field map, which prioritizes crops that are able to produce high yields in small spaces.  As we finalize our growing plans after the holidays, we’ll let you know what is in store for 2017!

There is a week left to sign up and save on the 2017 CSA shares.  With discounts on the Farm Stand Membership, the 18-week Veggie & Herb Share, as well as a new option to sign up for a 30-week Full Season Share, you can save up to 20% when you sign up and pay in full by 12/31.

We do hope you’ll join us for another season of local food & local nourishment!  And until then, we wish you a very merry winter.

In Good Heart,
Kate and Edge
