Cold Weather & Fresh Greens

Harvesting organic greens in autumn

We snuck off the farm last weekend for a visit to the Adirondacks.

After a summer spent mostly on the farm, four days among the mountains and lakes were rejuvenating and fun.

Home now, and fully in winter-prep mode, we’re cleaning up the fields, getting ready to plant garlic, and buttoning up the hoop house and greenhouse for colder days ahead.

Speaking of which, we’ll be sending you all the info on the Winter and Full Season CSA shares soon!

We always offer an early season discount, so keep an eye out for more details in the next two weeks.

This week’s harvest has plenty of fresh greens, from mesclun to braising mix to Napa cabbage, and we’ve got new recipes for you below.

As the cold winds roll in and the rain beats down, we’re extra thankful for the fresh veggies still coming out of the field.

And we’re thankful for you, too — for choosing us to be your farmers, for choosing local organic food, and for sharing the harvest with us.

We wish you a very cozy weekend ahead!

In Good Heart,
Kate & Edge
