Food For Pollinators + People

mixed flower bouquet in a ball jar on a picnic table

It’s flower season here at the farm.

We don’t actually sell flowers — while they’re included as a free PYO perk for our CSA Members, the role flowers play at Good Heart is one of pollination and beauty.

The mix of cultivated and wild flowers on the farm provide homes and food for pollinators like bumble bees, honey bees, butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds.

And flowers are so beautiful.

They stop me in my tracks sometimes, reminding me to slow down and enjoy the summer.  To live in the moment.

The thing about farming, though, is that to enjoy the beauty of summer or the abundance of fall, to live in the moment with beauty blossoming all around — you need to plan ahead.

So as we breathe in the fragrance of open blooms, we seed parsnips, rutabaga, and carrots; we transplant broccoli, cauliflower, and celery. All in the name of autumn harvests.

And we invite you to enjoy the harvest with us.

Plan ahead to live in the moment: get all the details about the Fall Harvest CSA on our website.

We’re already about half-full for the Fall Harvest share, so if you’d like to enjoy the abundance of fall, be sure to reserve your share soon.

Subsidized shares are available, and you can find the income eligibility for subsidized shares on our website.

If you have any questions, just let us know.

Wishing you a beauty-filled summer and delicious fall ahead~
