Why we love the Fall CSA — and why you will, too

Last week we harvested giant cabbages:

Waylon helped, too. Check out this video of him harvesting them.

These will become sauerkraut and curry kraut (our favorite twist on the classic ferment) and will be part of the Fall Harvest CSA.

Because sometimes you want a cabbage and sometimes you want a jar of farm-made kraut to pop open for an instant side dish. Why choose between the two? With a Fall CSA, you don’t have to.

That’s one of the things we look forward to in the fall: the special farmstead preserves.

Alongside fresh carrots, beets, rutabaga, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, and greens you’ll get farmstead ferments, pesto, and pumpkin puree.

This year’s elderberry crop is looking promising, which means elderberry syrup may likely show up in the Fall Share, too.

If you haven’t yet, now’s the time to reserve your share.

And if you have — hooray! You’ll get weekly shares of hearty organic veggies starting September 27!
