Full (seed)House

It’s that time of year when so much is happening it’s hard to keep track of it all!  The seed house is full, with onions and leeks moved out to the hardening-off space and all the tomatoes up-potted (or, since we are using soil blocks, up-blocked).  Kale, kohlrabi, cabbage, broccoli, spinach, lettuce, chard, pea shoots, sunflower shoots, and flowers also line the tables.  Waylon has been enjoying the warmth and sun of the seed house, too!

In the barnyard the lambs have become a little gang, sprinting and jumping all around!  They get especially excited in the evening, doing laps around the barnyard while their mamas eat hay.  The first green grass is starting to poke through, too, and soon (fingers crossed) the air will really shift and bring us warmer days and nights.

In the next few weeks, Edge will be assembling three moveable hoop houses for tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants and peppers to live in this summer, before transitioning to cold-hardy greens through the winter.  But it’s much to early to start thinking about winter again…

With May approaching, we are just over a month away from June and the beginning of CSA season!  There’s still time to sign up, so visit our CSA page and reserve your share today!  Feel free to call or email us with any questions.
