CSA Pick-up December 7 & 8
Bread is rising as I type, and remnants of dough still cling to my hands. The shift into winter always brings me back to bread making, and this year the warmth of fresh baked bread is even sweeter thanks to Rogers Farmstead and their fresh-milled wheat flour. Along with local grains, the Rogers family provides all of the milk we drink (and that’s a lot–Edge can down a half gallon in an afternoon, no joke), and have just begun selling organic yogurt, too.
We love being part of a rich agricultural community, and having Rogers Farmstead just down the road in Berlin makes this community richer for sure (how can they not–all that milk and cream!). You can find them at the Montpelier Farmers Market, and at their farm stand in Berlin, just off route 12.
Along with veggies this week, we’ll have more lamb sausage from Osprey Hill Farm for sale $8/lb, along with our own pasture-raised chicken for $4.95/lb.
As we wind down the Fall Harvest CSA, we are offering an early sign-up discount for Summer 2016 CSA shares. When you sign up and pay in full by December 31, you’ll get the discounted price of $395 for 18 weeks of vegetables next June-September (regularly $450). You can buy one for yourself or give a share as a holiday gift! We also have members who donate shares to the food bank or directly to a family in need, and we are so happy to encourage this type of gift that will feed families for four months of year. You can sign up on ourwebsite. Please email us with any questions.
We wish you all a restful Sunday~
