Leap into the coming season with us
I know the weather is forecasted to turn cold again, but the recent rain and subsequent mud has the scents of spring filling us and bringing the familiar and welcome sense of possibility that comes each year as the world shifts toward springtime. The fact that it is also a leap year has me feeling extra bouncy, and I invite you to leap into the coming season with us!
Thank you for your support on CSA Day, and also at the Farmstead 5k. CSA Day brought two more members, which is so great! In the last three years, sign-ups have started to come in late March, with the highest number of sign-ups happening in May. February and early March are very important times for us, though, and every share counts a lot at this time as we ramp up for the coming season.
We are so thankful to have the support of CSA members as we venture further into growing this community-supported farm. This year, we’re very happy to have received 5 CSA sign-ups in February, and coupled with the folks who signed up in December, we are up to 24 shares already. Will you join us in reaching our goal of 15 CSA sign-ups in March?
After a week of rain, we were happy to have a beautiful, sunny day for the Farmstead 5k. We had so much fun with all who came, and thanks to you, we raised another $150 for the NOFA Vermont Farm Share Program. We’ve also received individual donations to the Farm Share Program, which total $528. All in all, we are starting this season with $678 in donations, and matched by NOFA-VT, that becomes $1356 to put directly towards subsidized CSA shares. Wow! That allows us to offer subsidized shares to 6 low-income families in our community.
Thank you to all who have helped make this possible!
We invite you to join us for another season of fresh, local food that feeds both our families and our community.
May leap day bring you an extra spring in your step!
In Good Heart,
Katie and Edge

We’ve started the first seeds, and over the next few months, those seeds will turn to sprouts, to seedlings, to transplants, to full-size vegetables, and finally into harvests. Become a CSA Member to share in the bounty all summer long.
